Elliott neeps photograph of the short-eared owl has been chosen because it relates to the owl theme. I love this image because of the evil, troublesome facial expression that this owl seems to have, along with the little tuft of feathers that stick up on the top of the owls head. I think this shot also helps us to appreciate the small size of this short-eared owl compared to the barb wire and decaying wooden post beside it.

This close-up image of an owls feathers has been chosen as it relates to the theme of owls. I chose this image as you can see the texture of the birds feathers. I also chose this close-up shot as it is not a common image as for example the images beforehand, and the close-up angle helps to appreciate the colours that owlshave in there feathers that you may not normally see if it was just a wide angle shot.

I have chosen this illustration from a childrens storybook because it relates to the owl theme, uses a different type of media, shows an owl and its chicks, and I think the overall illustration is amazing in itself. I think this image is amazing because of how the illustration portrays the owl and chicks feathers as soft and fluffy while not being an actual photograph of an owl and chicks. I also love how there is some life in the chicks brown eyes and not just a straight hard stare like the real owls in the photographs used.

I have chosen this installation because its different from the other images i have collected, while still relating to the whole owl theme. In this installation it makes the owls seem like nightmare creatures perphaps this is because they appear more at night than during the day. The large bat almost directly above the mans head reinforces the nightmare creature idea, but then again the owl with its out spread wings looks like it could be protecting the man from the nightmarish bat creature. I like how the owls seem to appear out of thin air, this kind of reinforces the ’slient flyer’ idea. I also like how one of the owls on the desk is holding one of hte mans paint brushers as it seems to make the owl more human somehow.

I have used this image of an owl hiding in a tree trunk, because it relates to the owl theme and because i think it is a wonderful photograph illustrating the owl in its natural habitat, and to show how owls are quiet birds and can camouflageeasily into its surroundings. I find the photograph insteresting how the owl seems to just blend into the tree, apart from the large bright yellow eyes that stand out and just seem to stare at you from the image.

i have used this photograph of a flying owl, because it relates to the theme of owls. I have used this image as i think it is a fantasic shot which takes some skill to get a bird in focus while it is in mid flight. I think it also shows some of the power behind the owls talons as it grips a pile of snow. I also like how the white snow highlights the patterns on the owls feathers.

This Computer inhanced photograph has been chosen as it is a fantasic image because from a distance the owl looks like it is covered in feathers where in actual fact the eyes are surrounded by lines which make up the feathers. I am also memorised by the large yellow eyes staring back. This image relates to the owl theme as the lines make up the fethers to the owls face.

I have used this youtube clip because it relates to the owl theme and is a close-up view of an owl flying. I chose this short video as i thought it was a good clip which shows the power behind the wings and talons. I also chose it as I liked the movement of the feathers on the owls wings and how the owl came straight toward the camera, talons and all.
